Experience wooden houses on 10m tall stilts, surrounded by water in the wet season.
Komphong Khleang is a landscape of wooden houses on 10m tall stilts, surrounded by water in the wet season and perched above the floodplain of the lake in the dry season. Upon arrival at one of these stilt houses, we are welcomed by a warm and hospitable family. The community of Komphong Khleang knows many inventive ways to catch fish. We learn about the village life while visiting a local school, see the smoking of catfish, and speak to a fisherman while he is making reparations on his net. In the late afternoon, when the sun is almost down, we might take a boat on the Tonle Sap Lake to watch an amazing sunset before our return to Siem Reap.
